Kākāpō

Meet the kakapo: a flightless, nocturnal parrot from New Zealand with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Only around 115 are left, after predators like cats and rats wiped out most of the population.

Thanks to heroic conservation efforts, the kakapo is making a slow comeback.

By learning their story, we help protect not just one bird—but an entire natural heritage.
