My name is Iva Tsolova-Kutsarova—a social entrepreneur by profession and an artist by heart.

For most of my life, I have dedicated myself to causes that matter deeply to me: human rights, inclusion of people from all walks of life and most recently—environmental protection. But it wasn’t until a life-changing experience in 2018 that I began to see the world—and my place in it—through a profoundly different lens. It was during that time of reflection and healing that painting found me. Or perhaps, I finally allowed myself to find it.

What began as a quiet, private refuge slowly grew into a powerful form of self-expression. Without formal training, but with immense passion, I taught myself to translate emotion, beliefs, and hope into color, shape, and texture. Painting became not just a medium, but a language—one that allows me to speak to the world in a way words sometimes cannot.

My artistic voice is bold and evolving. I work with strong contrasts, layered textures, and a blend of abstract and geometric forms. My latest collection—my most personal yet—merges vivid modern abstraction with miniature, hyperrealistic portraits of endangered animals. These creatures, rendered in intricate detail against expressive, textured backdrops, are not just subjects—they are messengers. Their presence in my work is both a tribute and a call to action.

Art, for me, is never separate from life. It is rooted in purpose. With every painting, I hope not only to stir emotion but also to provoke thought, to awaken gratitude, and to inspire care—for our world, for each other, and for all that is fragile and worth protecting.

And because I have always been, and will continue to be, a person deeply committed to causes, 20% of the proceeds from every painting will be donated to organizations and initiatives dedicated to protecting the environment. It is one small way to ensure that this work continues to plant seeds of awareness and healing beyond the canvas.

Artist Statement

Through art, I immerse myself in a world of beauty and calm—one that allows me to be fully present in the moment, to experience it deeply, and to savor it with my whole being.

It is my way to translate emotion, beliefs, and awareness into shape and color. 

Through layered textures, bold contrasts, and the fusion of abstract forms with hyperrealistic endangered animals, I explore the delicate balance between humanity and nature. I paint to provoke reflection, stir emotion, and awaken a sense of responsibility for the world we inhabit. My work is both a personal ritual and a call to collective consciousness.
